Rosemary Rush - Therapist and Counsellor
I have always been curious about people and have wanted to try to understand why we are the way we are and do what we do. For the past 25 years, I have been working with people of all ages in different roles within the NHS, Social Services and also for local charities.
During this time I decided to develop my knowledge by training to become first an Arts Psychotherapist (using a psychodynamic approach) in 1998 and then as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist in 2008.
Over the years, I have provided therapeutic support and counselling to people who have experienced difficulties with stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, loss and relationship problems within Adult Mental Health services.
Since 2012, I have built on this experience by working with children and young people for local charities. I have learnt over the years, that the difficulties we experience as adults can be prevented by receiving the right support earlier on in life. I have completed a diploma in child counselling in 2017 and have developed a more integrative style of working.
More recently, I have been working with new parents, supporting families who are struggling to adjust to the arrival of a new baby, perhaps because of a previous traumatic birth, miscarriage or a baby loss. It may be that the changes at home may feel overwhelming and feel difficult to manage.
All of this experience means that I am able to offer high quality, up-to-date support to all of my clients. I am experienced in working with people of all ages and am able to work with you to find the best way to help you make the changes you feel you need.
